Fall Bobs

Post by Kenzi Well, folks, it's officially autumn. As much as I've tried to ignore the 15-degree drop in the temperature, there's no more denying it. It's the season when stepping outside without a coat means an outbreak of goosebumps on all exposed limbs. Breath clouds billow. Hair frizzes. As Monica in the Barbados episode of Friends protests, "It's the humidity!" And we B.C. residents are no stranger to that. Photo: NBC But it's okay.  Though it's easy to forget in our post-summer devastation, fall brings with it its own joys. Big knitted sweaters, boots and scarves. A mosaic of colour on our lawns and streets. Leaf piles, pumpkin patches, holidays and... I could go on forever, and fall is my least favourite season! I've also noticed a change in the haircuts being done around the salon. I had thought the trend would tend toward longer lengths, as protection from the chilly weather. As it turns out, sleek bobs are the look our guests are turning to, to heat up their style for the colder months. Celebs like Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson have already embraced this cut for their autumn looks. Kelly Ripa also recently lobbed off her customary long blonde waves into an angled bob. If you have long locks like mine, you know what I mean. Taking a scarf off and putting it back on whenever you go in and out of doors leaves you with frizzy tangled hair, and a scarf covered in clinging, wayward strands. Fall fashion and fabulous hair, for a GREAT cause!

Once again Sin 7 Salon is proud to take part in the Women of Value fashion fundraiser for Servants Anonymous Society (SAS).  Along with Vanilla Clothing, Malary's Boutique, Buena Vista massage and other sponsors, this is our 3rd year of involvement raising much-needed funds for this amazing organization.  From the SAS Vision Statement: To support female youth and women who are sexually exploited, and/or are homeless with access to full time long term homes and education, enabling them to be fully reintegrated into society and by equipping them with appropriate life and healthy relationship skills, training, access to full time education, and/or employment. To assist female youth and women in the development of healthy interpersonal relationships with their peers, family members, children, members of society and significant others by providing full time access to addiction recovery, thereby enabling ongoing personal awareness and growth. To foster good working relationships with our partners in service and agencies so that the SAS- Servants Anonymous Society (Surrey), whenever possible, shares mutual gifts and talents. To sensitize and promote awareness of the special needs of female youth, women and children who are homeless, exploited, human trafficked, or at risk of sexual exploitation to whomever SAS- Servants Anonymous Society (Surrey) is in contact with and, whenever possible, to share mutual gifts and talents. To provide consistency and continuity within the Servants Anonymous Society of Surrey by means of the Board of Directors.
